In the framework of a visit to Lebanon from December 13 to December 15, 2007, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece, Mr. Theodoros Kassimis, met with the President and Members of the Executive Committee of the LLGGU, in presence of the Ambassador of Greece to Lebanon, Mr. Panos Kalogeropoulos.

During the discussions, Deputy Minister Kassimis emphasized on the League’s role in further developing and strengthening the cultural relations between the two countries and peoples.

By the end of the meeting, LLGGU President, Dr. Georges Scheib presented to H.E. Mr. Kassimis the League’s honorific emblem as a symbol of consideration and esteem, and the Deputy Minister offered the League in return a book: “The Treasures of Mount Athos” with a special personal dedication.

In a speech he pronounced at a later stage during a reception offered in his honour by the Greek Community of Beirut, Mr. Kassimis said: I had the occasion to meet with the League of Lebanese Graduates from Greek Universities and I really felt that they actually represent a parcel of Greece in Lebanon.
